On Tuesday morning, Rob and I picked up our rental car from Avis, a white Holden sedan, and headed off for the Great Ocean Road, a scenic drive which runs along the Southern border of the state of Victoria. Enjoying the scenery came easy, but a

djusting to driving on the left side of the road posed a bit of a challenge. However, Rob quickly proved himself to be a natural left-sider (except for the fact that each turn signal was preceded by a few swipes of the windshield wipers).
The roads were curvy,

the breezes cool,

and the skies and waters as blue as can be.

We had lunch in Lorne, a quaint beach town with lots of cafes and shops.

And finished out the day in Apollo Bay, another sleepy little beach town.

And, one more note, HAPPY BIRTHDAY IRENE!
